Youth For Climate France

Who are we?

Youth for Climate France is a movement of young people who mobilize for climate and social justice, environmental protection and biodiversity.

On March 15, 2019, we answered the international call to mobilize and gathered more than 200,000 young people in France (for a total of more than 2 million worldwide!). In more than 200 cities, we demonstrated in order to raise awareness and to denounce the inaction of political leaders.

Youth for Climate France is a real crossroads for young people’s environmental mobilizations, creating links between the different local mobilizations and referencing the many activist initiatives throughout France.

Fridays for Future – Our international network

Youth for Climate has responded since the beginning of 2019 to Greta Thunberg’s calls for a school strike for climate. The movement has since set itself up as the French group of “Fridays for Future”.

Youth for Climate France represents this global youth movement, and relays, helps, and participates in the structuring of an international movement of high school and college students. This movement has different names around the world (Fridays for Future, School Strike for Climate or ClimateStrike), but we are all associated with common values and claims, endorsed in the Lausanne Charter.
